Waiting Upon the LORD!

377-e28093-waiting-patientlyHello Friends,

Just 2 days before the New Year, so I wanted to encourage you will a few words:

“Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Psalm 27:14)
“But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint!” (Isaiah 40:31) and,
“I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I hope! My soul waits for the LORD!” (Psalm 130:5-6a)

I want to encourage everyone to take some time at the end of 2014 and “wait upon the LORD.”

Andrew Murray, one of my spiritual heroes, writes this about waiting on the LORD:

“Wait on God–that He may reveal Himself in us; that He may teach us all His will; that He may do to us what He has promised; that in all things He may be the infinite God.”

Think about this great quote as you wait on God. You see, it is so important to make waiting on the LORD a daily habit or discipline, but there is something special when we take extra time in our day, especially at the end of a year, and wait upon our LORD, quieting our soul and mind. As we wait, things begin to happen. We begin dwelling on His goodness; dwelling on His faithfulness; dwelling on His great mercies in our lives; dwelling on His salvation and His BLESSINGS that He has done in this past year.

It also is a time to wait upon Him to reveal Himself to you and His plans for you for the New Year! So many times we make goals and “New Year’s resolutions” without truly waiting upon the LORD and getting His word for us.

When we wait upon the LORD, wonderful things begin to happen. Just reading these three (3) passages on waiting on God (and there are many others), we discover He makes us strong, He fills our hearts with courage and faith, He gives us fresh hope (vision) and He gives us His word! A word to stand on for the New Year!

So, in the next two days, turn the television off, log-off of the internet (and yes, Facebook) and find a quiet place and wait upon our gracious, loving, merciful, good, guiding LORD! And when you do, He will flood your heart and mind with His goodness and give you a word to stand on for the New Year! Then write it down and enter 2015 with great faith in a great and faithful God!

Hey, after you do that, why don’t you send me what the LORD revealed to you and I’ll agree with you on His plans for your life!

May God BLESS You as you wait on Him. And may 2015 be one of the BEST Years of your life.

Think about it!
